Wave Gotik Treffen

Wave Gotik Treffen … Are you familiar with this wonderful event?
Unfortunately, due to the busy schedule of work, I can never go there and every year I say “the next one will be the right year!”

This year, as always, during the Wave Gotik Treffen I was at home… but some small part of me was there!

In particular there were two of my headpieces:

The horns of Maleficent who had given with a giveaway.
To my great fortune had won Niha-Cèta,  of the band Other Day, that was in the Wave Gotik Treffen with my horns and you can see here in these photos!

Thank you very very much! I am so proud to have been able to see this horns with such a splendid combination of clothes and makeup!

The second headgear, present at the Treffen, had instead been commissioned especially for the occasion by Zéphirin DJH Mandarin.

I worked in record time to finish this dragon (you can see my work in progress on tumblr) and I hope that Zéphirin DJH Mandarin was satisfied!

I was happy to see that has been worn during the parade at Viona’s Victorian Village!

Thank you very much to both, because at least this year a part of me was present at this wonderful event … and maybe next year …

Warhammer – scout marine’s armor

In 2011 I opened my shop on etsy, but at the beginning I don’t inserted warhammer’s armors that already was building.
I made my first photo shoot of armors (scout marine and adepta Sororitas) in early February of 2012, in the snow.
I do not recall ever having been so cold!
But it was worth it the photos were beautiful and when, after a little of hesitation, I put in my shop, had suffered from a large number of views!

It’s been over three years since then and I have received many orders for armors (warhammer and not).
By the time I changed all the materials, to look for a yield better.
At first, the base was in tatami, now is plastazote.
The covering, which was opaque, now is bright and shiny.
And in fact, covering the old photos, I can also be said to be much improved in carving.
You can see below the new armor model.
Unfortunately there was no snow and perhaps the photos are not as nice as the first but I guarantee you that the result is much better!

Now… someone would say to my boyfriend that I’m the cute with short hair?
Thanks!

What happens when your sister asks you:
<< Please build me a long LARP stick!>>
and a friend, promptly, suggests as decoration on stick top the Skyrim’ s dragon?

I think… I’m trapped!

Obviously I had to make some changes, eliminating the curvature and changing the details because the weapon must be able to pass through security and be sturdy and able to fight.

Here you can see the project:

Today, the work of carving is at this point…

From Sedlec with love…

Once upon a time, long ago (so long ago that almost do not remember) a little crafter went on vacation in the Czech republic.

The little crafter had returned home from that beautiful holiday full of good intentions to create many new things but did not know where to start.

Thus, the little crafter had asked the trust of the net and immediately so many people had come to express their opinion!

Featured

Eventually the majority had voted and had asked the small artisan to create a headpiece inspired by the magnificent Sedlec Ossuary.

You can see here the Sedlec Ossuary:

Tells the story: (from wikipedia)

In 1278, Henry, the abbot of the Cistercian monastery in Sedlec, was sent to the Holy Land by King Otakar II of Bohemia. He returned with him a small amount of earth he had removed from Golgotha and sprinkled it over the abbey cemetery. The word of this pious act soon spread and the cemetery in Sedlec became a desirable burial site throughout Central Europe.

In the mid 14th century, during the Black Death, and after the Hussite Wars in the early 15th century, many thousands were buried in the abbey cemetery, so it had to be greatly enlarged.

Around 1400, a Gothic church was built in the center of the cemetery with a vaulted upper level and a lower chapel to be used as an ossuary for the mass graves unearthed during construction, or simply slated for demolition to make room for new burials.

After 1511, the task of exhuming skeletons and stacking their bones in the chapel was given to a half-blind monk of the order.

Between 1703 and 1710, a new entrance was constructed to support the front wall, which was leaning outward, and the upper chapel was rebuilt. This work, in the Czech Baroque style, was designed by Jan Santini Aichel.

In 1870, František Rint, a woodcarver, was employed by the Schwarzenberg family to put the bone heaps into order, yielding a macabre result.

Inspired by the charm of the place the little crafter had made this sketch:

Sedlec 1

Now, after many many months, finally the little crafter has found time to finish this headpice!

Before, the little crafter carved in clay some parts with those made a cast of the headgear.

mold

Then the little craft ran off the latex in the mold, and when it was dry, the colored and applied on a tiara adjustable leather … et voila!

Torrechiara

I am lucky to live in an area rich in castles, palaces and villas … so I always choose different places where to set the photos of my creations.

One of the places that I like is the castle of Torrechiara

Torrechiara by Silla Rizzoli

In this castle were also shot some scenes of the movie Lady Hawke and also the legend says that it is inhabited by several ghosts … the guides say that to see them is mandatory before passing at the castle tavern, to taste the white and sparkling wines that are produced in this area!

You can see this castle in the background of several pictures of my creations:

TRIBAL HEADPIECE

Big shaman headpiece

Some time ago a customer (Dylan) wrote to me and asked me for a headpiece that would combine with one my big horns and my Shaman headpiece.
I immediately loved this project and I thank Dylan for suggesting it!

The first project was this:

7

In a second step Dylan asked me if I could add a fox’s skull on the headpiece.
He had one and would send it to me.
Unfortunately, I was not sure that the customhouse would allow the shipment of the skull, also I was afraid that a real skull would have been fragile.
So I suggested the addition of a skull in plastazote, much lighter and more durable.

The second project was this:

8

Finally Dylan asked me to add a few strips of leather decorated with feathers, as in some Indian headdresses …
and this is the finished object!

THANKS A LOT DYLAN!

Now you can find it in my etsy shop, here!

Maleficent Movie headdress

I was fascinated by the movie “Maleficent” … Angelina Jolie is beautiful and the costumes are fantastic!
It was December, 2013, I began to design a headdress like the movie …

Maleficent

However, I was not sure what material to use for the construction of:
in the images of the movie seemed leather … but perhaps it would be more elegant made in plastazote…

As always in these cases, unable to make up my mind I have constructed two different headpieces, one in faux leather and one in plastazote.

The choice is yours:
Which is the best?
